Quote for the day

From the Monday Morning Memo a few weeks ago:

“When a friend is in trouble, don’t annoy him by asking if there is anything you can do. Think up something appropriate and do it.” – E.W. Howe

  1. Yes, but many a TV comedy’s plot has turned on people helping friends unasked, getting it all wrong, and ending up in a big pile of doodoo.

My wise Emma’s offering: suggest a couple of things you can do for your needy friend and let them choose.

Lastly, this reminds me of the old saying: A good friend is one who won’t turn you in for murder, and a best friend is one who will help you bury the body.
